Step 1: Travel to Thailand

The First Step You need to go through is to travel to Thailand. You can Come with all Kinds of Visas. So we recommend you to travel to Thailand with Tourist Visa (TR) or with Visa Exemption Scheme (if it is Applicable for You), You can Check the Visa Exemption countries by clicking here.

After Getting Your Visa, You will have to Book Your ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) and Buy Your Travel insurance Plan in order to be able to apply for the COE (Certificate of Entry) and Travel to Thailand.

Step 2: Apply for Non Immigrant O For Retirement

After Arriving Thailand and finish your 16 Days Quarantine, You can Start the Process of the Second Step which is Applying for Non Immigrant O Visa For retirement. The Non Immigrant OA Will allow you to stay for Additional 90 Days in Thailand, and it is considered as a Transition visa between the Tourist Visa or Visa Exemption and The Retirement Visa.

The Requirements needed for applying For Non Immigrant O For Retirement:

  1. Passport
  2. Personal Photos (2) – 4×6
  3. TM 87 Form if you come with visa Exemption – OR – TM 86 Form if you come with Tourist Visa (TR)
  4. Departure Card (Received on Arrival at the Immigration) – Also Called TM 6 Form
  5. Provide one of the following 3 Documents: A) Bank Deposit in a Thai Bank for at least 800,000 Thai Baht (In that case you will have to Present the transfer receipt of the Amount from Your home country to your Thai Bank Account) – OR –  B) A proof that your monthly income is 65,000 THB per month or more (In that case you will need an evidence letter from Your Embassy in Thailand to Prove this) – OR – C) Yearly income and Bank Deposit altogether Equivalent or more than 800,000 Thai Baht. 
  6. Renting Contract/ Payment receipt of the place where you are going to Stay – OR – A proof of ownership of a house
Important Remark: This Process has to be done at Least 15 Days before the Expiry date of your original Visa

Step 3: Apply for The Retirement Visa

After reciving your Non Immigrant O Visa (Transition Visa), You can Start to apply for retirement Visa 60 days after that. Why 60 Days? because one of the Documents required when applying for the Retirement Visa is a Bank Statement showing that your 800,000 Thai Baht Deposit in the Thai Bank Did not move in the last 60 days.

The Required Documents For the Retirement Visa Application:

  1. Passport
  2. Personal Photos (2) – 4×6
  3. TM 7 Form
  4. Departure Card (Received on Arrival at the Immigration) – Also Called TM 6 Form
  5. Provide one of the following 3 Documents: A) Bank Deposit in a Thai Bank for at least 800,000 Thai Baht + the Bank Statement Showing that the Money did not move for the last 60 days (In that case you will have to Present the transfer receipt of the Amount from Your home country to your Thai Bank Account) – OR –  B) A proof that your monthly income is 65,000 THB per month or more (In that case you will need an evidence letter from Your Embassy in Thailand to Prove this) – OR – C) Yearly income and Bank Deposit altogether Equivalent or more than 800,000 Thai Baht.

Other things you should know about Retirement Visa:

  • The Retirement Visa allows you to Stay in Thailand for 1 Year
  • After receiving Your retirement Visa, you will not be able to move the deposited amount of 800,000 Thai Baht for 3 Months.
  • After these 3 months, You can only withdraw half of the amount Deposited (400,000 Thai Baht)
