After today’s meeting (8th of June) between Thailand’s Prime Minister (Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha) and the Thai Cabinet, the Phuket Sandbox Model has been confirmed and Approved by the Cabinet to start from the 1st of July 2021. And now, there are still considerations on how the sealed routing will be like to ensure the safety of the Local Phuket residents as a First Priority.
Another meeting will be held on the 18th of June by the CCSA (Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration) to finalize all the Decisions and the Guidelines related to this Project.
It was also reconfirmed in today’s meeting that the Travelers Coming to Phuket under the Sandbox Model will need to apply for the COE (Certificate of Entry) to be able to enter The Country.
So to conclude, The Phuket sandbox will go on from the 1st of July same as the Plan and Vaccinated tourists can enter without the Need of Quarantine upon arrival, however, the final Details and Guidelines will be finalized on the 18th.
For the People who are worried about the COE, It usually takes around 3 to 5 Days for it to be processed since the Day of Application, Therefore, Travelers will still have time to apply for it even if it is confirmed after the 18th of June.
