Sony Pictures Entertainment To Open in Thailand
Sony Pictures Entertainment and Amazon Falls will establish a new theme park in Thailand based on films from its Columbia Pictures studio such as Jumanji and Ghostbusters. It plans to Open its door to the Public by October 2021. Read more
Songkran Festival Cancellation Locations:
As part of Nationwide Efforts to Control the Spread of the New COVID 19 Community Transmission, Celebrations for Songkran Festival will be cancelled in Some Locations around Thailand as Following:
- Khon Kaen Festival
- Paweni Pi Mai Mueang in Chiang Mai
- Songkran Festival at Kanchanaburi
- Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station in Bangkok (TAT Amazing Songkran Festival)
- Amazing Songkran Buri Ram presented by Chang
- Lan Khon Muang Plaza (all special activities to be organized in Khlong Ong Ang have also been cancelled)
- Celebrations at Ayutthaya

Highest Number of COVID 19 Infections on 12 APRIL
Thailand registered its highest number of cases yet in 2021, 985 new COVID Infection Cases on 12 April.
- Total Infections Since the Start of the Pandemic: 33,610 infections
- Total Cases recovered: 28,248 Recovered
- Receiving Medical Treatment: 5,265 Patients.
- Total Deaths: 97 Deaths
TAT Lowers its Expectations for Songkran Holidays
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have lowered their expectations for the Songkran holidays by 50%, due to the growing number of cases. Before the New Cluster Spreads (Last Week) , the TAT forecast around 3.2 million domestic trips with a revenue of around 12 billion THB.
But After the New Cluster Spreads this Week, mass cancellations has started to being reported across the country. In addition to that, quarantine periods being imposed on travelers from Bangkok and other areas with clusters. Read more
Prime Minister has Authorized Provinces to Close their Entertainment Business Temporarily
Bangkok and 40 other provinces have been authorized by Thailand’s Prime Minister to temporarily close their entertainment businesses for at least 14 days (This includes Bars, Nightclubs, ..etc) . Companies are also encouraged to allow staff to work from home to help in Controling the Spread of the New Virus Strain. Read more
