Quarantine in Thailand to be reduced to 10 days
After a long time of Borders closure (nearly one year), Thailand announces that vaccinated tourists will only need to stay 10 days Quarantine upon arrival instead of 14 days. This is considered to be as a good Sign of the Recovery Plan for the Tourism Industry in Thailand.

The Sandbox Model in Phuket
A new Model has been Proposed by Phuket and The Tourism Minister “The Sandbox” To Open up tourism. It is very similar to Travel Bubbles and it may Start first with China in July 2021. Around 900,000 Doses of Vaccine are required to Vaccinate 70% Of the Island’s Population and Start Implementing. The Proposal is not only for Phuket, But also Krabi and Phang Nga. These 3 Regions have been chosen because they generated 600 Billion Thai Baht in 2019 from Tourism.
Area Local Quarantine
Other ways are also considered by The Tourism Minister for reopening the County for tourism. One of the most interesting ways discussed is The “Area Local Quarantine”. The Area Local Quarantine means that Vaccinated travelers undergo 7 days Quarantine in Hotel but with being able to use the Hotels’ facilities after being tested. This Model will be implemented in 7 provinces: Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani (including Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Tao), Chiang Mai, Chonburi (including Pattaya and Jomtien), Bangkok and Phang Nga (including Kao Lak). The Approval of this Project will take place on the 19th of March.

Koh Samui Reopening Plan
Same as Phuket has Proposed Earlier for receiving international Arrivals without the Need of Quarantine after Vaccinating 70% Of its Population by April, Koh Samui is now having the Same Plan. The Island is Also Planning to Vaccinate 70% of Its Population by October 2021. The Plan is also to make Travellers able to Visit Both Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.

COVID 19 Vaccine
Parivate Hospitals Selling Vaccine
After that the Health Minister Announced that Private Hospitals will be allowed to import the Vaccine Privately, The Private Hospitals are Planning to Sell the COVID 19 Vaccine for 2,000 THB Per Dose. Some Hospitals and healthcare Groups have already Received Advanced Orders from Tourism and Manufacturing Businesses.

AstraZeneca Vaccine Rollout Suspended
The Thai Cabinet and the Prime minister Cancelled Taking their AstraZeneca Vaccine as Scheduled on 12 MARCH. That’s because of fears over Blood Clots and After the Suspension of Some European Countries for Giving the Vaccine. The Government has also delayed the Vaccine Rollout of AstraZeneca.
Sinovac Vaccine
800 Thousands doses of the Sinovac COVID 19 Vaccine are expected to arrive to Thailand on the 25th of March 2021

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), has launched a new TVC Advertisement Sending the message that Thailand can’t wait to Welcome Back Visitors.
2021 Tourism Arrivals Forecast According to (ATTA)
ATTA (Association of Thai Travel Agents), Expects that Thailand Can Welcome 8 Million international Arrivals in 2021. This Forecast is only if the Country open the Borders for Arrivals wihout the need of Quarantine by June 2021. The Expected number of Arrivals is as follows:
- 200,000 – 300,000 Arrivals in JUNE 2021
- 500,0000 Arrivals in JULY 2021
- 1.5 Million Arrivals by October 2021
- 2.5 Million Arrivals By December 2021
