Yesterday, the 15th of September, a Meeting was Held between Thailand’s Tourism And sports Minister, Mr.Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and Bangkok’s Governor Mr. Aswin Kwanmuang, Discussing about reopening Bangkok for Vaccinated Tourists Starting from the 15th of October.
There were no Details Published on how this will be implemented or Which Model will be applied for Such a Reopening.
Today, The Minister of Public Health Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul was interviewed on Several TV Channels regarding the reopening of Bangkok, and he mentioned that he has not received any report regarding the 15th of October Reopening and no official Agreement has been made yet. He has also highlighted that he did not Set a Date for Reopening the Country till the moment. In addition, He said that he will take the Next step of the reopening very Carefully as the Country has just Passed the COVID 19 Third wave, and that all Similar Decisions will need to be Gone through the Disease Control Departments before being accepted.
Dr. Prasit, The Director of the Siriraj Hospital has also announced that Reopening other Parts of the Country is too Soon for October and is not the right Decision to take at the moment.
So till the moment, There is no Set date yet on when Bangkok is going to Reopen for International Tourists without quarantine or with any new Rules, And the Opened Parts of Thailand remains the Same under the Current Applicable Models: Phuket Sandbox, Samui Plus, and Phuket Sandbox Extension (7+7).
