New Thailand Entry Rules The CCSA (Center for Covid situation administration in Thailand) has announced the new Thailand Entry Rules that are going to be effective from 1 December.
Vaccinated travelers traveling from low risk countries (63 countries)
For the vaccinated travelers arriving from low risk countries, They will need to Come under the test and Go scheme (Stay for 1 Night in an Eligible Quarantine Hotel – Either SHA PLUS Or AQ), They will also need to have the Below requirements as well:
- COVID insurance covering not less than 50,000 USD for COVID 19 treatment expenses.
- Booked airport transfer to the hotel/ the place where they are going to be tested.
- Thailand pass approved.
- Required PCR Test to be done upon arrival
- A Negative RT PCR test that has been made within 72 hours before departing from the country of Origin.
Travelers must have stayed at least 21 days in a low risk country before being able to travel to Thailand under the test and Go Scheme.

Vaccinated Travelers traveling from High risk Non African countries
For vaccinated travelers coming from anywhere around the world except Africa, they can join the sandbox scheme (Blue Zone) for entry to Thailand. They will need to Stay for 5 Nights in a SHA Plus approved Hotel, they will also need to present the below Documents upon arrival:
- COVID insurance covering not less than 50,000 USD for COVID 19 treatment expenses.
- Accommodation 5 Nights in SHA plus approved hotel
- Thailand pass approved.
- 1 PCR COVID test booked
- A Negative RT PCR test that has been made within 72 hours before departing from the country of Origin.

Non Vaccinated travelers arriving from Non African countries
For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers coming from any country around the world except Africa, they will need to stay for 10 days quarantine in an AQ hotel and undergo 2 required PCR tests during their stay. Guests will also need to have the below requirements present upon arrival:
- COVID insurance covering not less than 50,000 USD for COVID 19 treatment expenses.
- PAID and confirmed AQ Accommodation for 10 Days.
- Thailand pass approved.
- A Negative RT PCR test that has been made within 72 hours before departing from the country of Origin
Traveling from Africa
On the 28th of November, The CCSA has announced that due to the outbreak of the new Covid 19 variant “Omicorn”, Arrivals from 8 African countries has been banned (effective from 1 December). These countries are Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. (in case you are traveling from one of these countries and got your Thailand Pass already, you can Still travel but you will need to stay for 14 Days Quarantine upon arrival) In case of arriving from any other African country other than these 8, travelers will not be eligible for entering the country under the sandbox scheme, and they will need to undergo 14 days quarantine upon arrival with 3 required PCR COVID tests on Day 0-1, 5-6, and 12-13. (Either vaccinated or not, same rules will be applied)
