Thailand Reopening on October

Yesterday (16th of June 2021), Thailand’s Prime minister, Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha has announced that Thailand will Fully reopen its borders for International Tourists in 120 Days, Which is next October of the Current Year.

The Prime Minister has announced that by that time, Around 50 million People in Thailand will have received at Least one Shot of the Vaccine according to the Plan to vaccinate 10 million people per month.

How will Thailand be reopening its Borders till October, and What Are the Stages of This Reopening?

As per the Latest Plan proposed for Reopening Thailand for international tourists Arrival, Below are the Details:

First of all, Phuket will be the first Province to open its Borders for vaccinated tourists starting from the 1st of July under the Phuket Sandbox Model, The proposal has already been approved by the CESA and the Thai Cabinet and Waiting for final Approvals for the Detailed Guidelines and rules on the 18th of June.

Other Proposals for reopening other Provinces have been proposed but not yet approved by Government Departments.

These Proposals Include:

Phang-Nga & Khao Lak

Reopening Phang-Nga and Khao Lak starting from August with No Quarantine as an Extension for the Phuket Sandbox Reopening.

Krabi & Koh Samui

Other types of Proposals have submitted for Krabi and Koh Samui Island under the Name of (1+2+4 Nights Model). The Proposal is to Partially Open Samui and Krabi Starting from 1 July under Specific Guidelines. (Not Approved Yet)

This Model is as follows:

  • Day 0 -1: Staying in Quarantine inside the ALQ Room without being able to go outside of it
  • Day 2 -3: Guest will be able to Join activities outside the Hotel room but Can’t go outside of the Hotel.
  • Day 4-7: Guest will be able to Travel along Sealed Route.

Proposed Sealed Routes in Krabi:

  • From 1 July, Guests would be able to Visit Phi Phi, Ngai and Railay starting from Day 4 after their arrival.
  • From 1 August, Guests would be able to Visit Kohl anta, Ao Nang and Tub Koek Starting from Day 4 after their arrival.
Thailand Reopening Plan Guidelines

All of these Proposals are not yet approved (Except Phuket Sandbox). However, these proposals can give an Idea on how the Reopening Plan of Thailand may be like in the Next few months.

All the Provinces Should be Reopened Starting from October 2021 as per the Latest Announcement by Thailand’s Prime Minister. The Question is: will they be reopened with some rules and restrictions same as the Phuket Sandbox, or will it be a full reopening of the Whole Country same as prior to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
